So we got our flyers today. Shouts to Sergio at Versa Printing. One more set and he joins Cosigned! The flyers were dope but it seems they went with their own direction. Thats what i get for not being the decision man on the flyers. When you leave shit to other people mistakes may happen. Its not a biggie, but I distinctly asked that Kid Cudi and Asher Roth’s names be in small letters, along with Pac Division and BOB. Turns out nobody would look at the flyer if it wasn’t for Kid Cudi’s name on it unless I explained the club. Turns out not everybody in Dallas knows who Kid Cudi is so I have to explain the club’s ambiance as the major draw point. Now this isn’t the whole city, just the parking lots of two North Dallas clubs on Black Night. I was about to get pissed about the whole thing until I started asking the non Cudis where they from. Most said South Dallas or Oak Cliff. It makes sense. They listen to Stanky Leg and Darrough more than Cudi or Roth. But it does let me know that even though we have the nightclub to die for and are tying it into a good cause, its a lot more to this promotional shit. If you want to build something, you’re gonna have to lay a foundation. I’m looking for that foundation right now. Tommorrow I’ll be searching for frames and wood beams that will support the house, but for now, its all about the foundation. I hope the artists aren’t mad if they’re name is used in this fashion. I am not promoting it as “The Official” afterparty and when people ask if I paid $10,000 or $20,000 for Cudi, i tell them that Cudi isn’t contracted to make an appearance. If that turns them off, fine. But the last thing I want is for Cudi or the Div’s people to think we are laying shitty foundation here. I spent weeks going back and forth with TJ Chapman over BOB’s appearance just to learn that HOB doesn’t want us to have his name in any contract. For now my foundation is the nightclub, Buddha 9 (www.buddha9dallas.com), my hard working partners, Bryan Walker and Bishop, and our friend who wants to help our charitable event DJ Sean G, who we owe the world to right now. That said here is the flyer with said imaging mistakes. The show must go on!!!!!

I can’t wait to enjoy the festivities of Kixpo again next month July 24th thru the 26th. Last year I returned to enjoy the last day of festivities and can’t wait to see what new styles we are going to see out there. I love the movement. Its very collective.

I am writing this proposal to ask that you give a few moments thought to an event that I would love to share with the local vendors, designers, and boutiques that will be at Kixpo. July 29th, the Dallas House of Blues is host to The Great Hangover Tour. The tour is headlined by Kid Cudi and Asher Roth. The opening acts are Bobby Ray aka B.o.B and the Pacific Division. The house of blues is sure to be filled with the most innovative and creative minds and busiest bodies in the city. All of the artists have hit singles on the radio so the night is guaranteed to be fun filled.

We would like your support in our efforts to bring the city an Official After party for the Great Hangover tour. I call it an after party but it can be so much more for all of us. We want Kixpo in the house.

At the time of this email, we have confirmed and locked in commitments from both opening acts, B.o.B and Pacific Division. The nights DJ will be the Pacific Division’s very own DJ Sean G. The club sits blocks away from the General Electric building Downtown. It has 4 levels including a rooftop lounge with swimming pools and a DeeJay. The nights going to be beautiful.

The show is going to be nice, and the after party is going to be nicer. But we can still make it bigger and better. I saw on the website for Kixpo, that one of the organizations that you contribute to is Shoes for Orphans Souls. My most important reason for wanting to organize people is to motivate people to act. I feel that I was looking for a righteous cause to tie my promotions into, and it made so much sense when I saw it on Kixpo.

IF I CAN SPEND 1800.00 ON YEEZY’S, WHY THE FUCK CAN’T I BUY A KID IN AFRICA SOME SHOES TO SURVIVE FOR LESS THAN I SPEND ON LACES.

Forgive me for the caps, but I think this is a message that must be made louder. And that’s where I hope this event comes in.

I want your help to make this night everything it can be. I know that DJ Sean G is going to hold it down. And many of you will be there as guests. But I would like to ask that instead of arriving as guests, you arrive as sponsors. The Pacific Division are a great rap trio and definitely the next to blow. They have their own The Hundreds Tee already. And B.o.B is too creative to be denied. But I need Kid Cudi. I need Asher Roth. We need your support to bring them and more to this event. I see no reason as to why ESPN can’t come and tape the message we are going to deliver to the shoe collecting and custom shoe consumer if I can get their attention too. Unfortunately my voice alone isn’t enough to solidify this the way it needs to be done. I NEED YOUR HELP.

This is not about a party as much as it is about solidifying this moment. I see this as a great opportunity for a jumble of people to blend and come together for a positive cause. To put it plainly Dallas still has a segregated layout. But not in this pocket of people. Black, White, Mexican, and Asian are blending over hip hop, cars, and fashion now more than ever. Everybody’s style is accepted. I want to foster this environment We need to promote that environment. So often you assume that blending and melting can only happen in a city up north or S.F, but we are in the middle of it. Let’s get this dream together.

The sad thing is that I do not know exactly who you are or what you can do to help, but if you are reading this and would to get more information please, please please respond. We are going to print for the first round of promotions June 15th and would like the best of Dallas’ Shoe Boutiques and Vendors to be down and unified with us by then. If I am going to get any major attention to this event I will need to get Kid Cudi or Asher Roth involved as well. That may cost money. That may be a connection you already have.

To run through a list of general ideas and what would be involved in sponsoring the event would be to say that I have a plan already. I do know that I would like to put your name on our flyer and cross promote. I don’t want to wait til next year to blow out Kixpo. It’s the biggest thing in Dallas already. I love the events they are having. We want to have a showcase of local artists and invite the performers from Kixpo weekend to perform as well. I think it would be perfect to have a local vendor judge the winners. We want to cross promote this showcase with Kixpo and during Kixpo to transition to the HOB date. I want to help the artists sell this date out so we are contacting HOB for their support as well. I know a sell out will help the chances of us delivering the night we want. We want that same fashion savvy young groups of trendsetters rolling with us from the HOB to the after party. At that party, you get a reserved table in the VIP section. I imagine a pair of Terry Kennedy’s in a glass case on a table, while Cudi or Asher admire the styles and local fashions that Dallas is ready to put on. The bottles will crack, and the room will be filled with that new shoe smell from all of the customs in the house. A new connect will be made here or there, a new design or maybe even another Mixtape X Designer series will start. And when its all said and done, the night will have been for charity. I want to donate 10 % of the proceeds to the charity if we can make this happen.
